Little Birdee Espresso has been in operation for a year now, but I wonder how many Brisbane-breakfast-fiends have registered it’s existence.
On the ground level of the Ausenco Building at 144 Montague Road, it’s primary clientele are the office workers in surrounding buildings. Lucky people they are too. On the morning I visited with a friend, there were three specialty coffees, one decaf. The breakfast menu had 5 options, all $10 and under. I had an espresso house blend Tim Adams ($3.5), because I know someone of the same name, and the avocado and feta on sourdough (two slices, $8). My friend had the Spanish omelette ($9) and a cold pressed black iced coffee, served properly as black coffee in a glass with lumps of ice.
My avocado was tasty and good for the price, when some cafes are charging $12 and upwards for the same meal. The Spanish omelette was delicious and came with bread and pesto. The coffee was well made and when my friend’s iced coffee came out the first time, made with milk, it was immediately replaced free of charge.
If you’re in the area on a weekday I would certainly recommend Little Birdee Espresso as a great place for simple, tasty breakfast and coffee.
